Daniel Traster is a culinary education consultant, author, and former academic leader with extensive experience in workforce-focused culinary training. He is the author of three books—Welcome to Culinary School: A Culinary Student Survival Guide, Foundations of Cost Control, and Foundations of Menu Planning—and previously served as Dean of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management at Stratford University and Academic Director for The Art Institute of Washington.
With a career dedicated to strengthening instructional quality and program design, Daniel has led curriculum review and instructor training initiatives for DC Central Kitchen’s Culinary Job Training program and provided oversight for World Central Kitchen’s Ecole des Chefs in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He continues to consult for the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington and Kitchen of Purpose.
Daniel brings to the Infinite Minds Board deep expertise in adult learning, curriculum development, and workforce education, strengthening the organization’s commitment to structured, evidence-informed pathways toward personal and professional transformation.
