Mark Washington is a federal senior executive and is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Enterprise Operations at the U.S. Department of Education. Mark is also the delegated Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Department as well. Mark holds a B.S. in Accounting and in Business Administration from Oakwood University, and a Master’s certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mark has significant and relevant career experience in financial management, strategic performance, operations management, and safety and security management. He has worked successfully across private industry, academic, non-profit, and government sectors. Mark has a track record of commitment to community service and social justice, and aims to continue to build bridges to overcome barriers—in tangible and impactful ways. Mark is also a volunteer firefighter and licensed EMT in the Capitol Heights VFD, in the Prince George’s Fire Department in Maryland. Mark works and resides in Washington, DC.
